“Obviously we were 21 and 22 when we met. We got married when we were 23 and 24 and we had our first son when I was 23, so as soon as we had our first son, Brooklyn, that also added another layer on the family and our responsibilities then were to our son,” he added as they welcomed their eldest son, Brooklyn, on March 4, 1999, before tying the knot on July 4 of that year.

“I’m so happy. I’m very happy because I feel very blessed to have had the career I’ve had and played for the teams I’ve had and experienced that,” Beckham — who has played for teams including Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy over the years — he said when asked if he was happy.

“And the one thing I’ve always wanted for myself, I was lucky to meet Victoria when I met her because I’ve always wanted to have young children,” he continued.

“I always wanted to have children who lived through my career with me and I was lucky that all three boys lived through most of the teams I played for and that was a very important part of my life for me,” Beckham continued.
