Prince Archie’s Adorable Reaction After Accidentally Breaking Queen Elizabeth Christmas Ornament

Meghan Markle once gave her husband Prince Harry a small Christmas ornament from Queen Elizabeth – but unfortunately, it didn’t last long.

As the Duke of Sussex, 40, recounted in his 2023 memoir, Sparehe, Meghan, and their son Prince Archie spent their first Christmas in the United States in 2020. (Princess Lilibet’s daughter won’t be born until June 2021.) That year, Meghan gave Harry “a little Christmas ornament… The Queen! ” he wrote Spareuser pages.

“I shook hands,” he wrote. “What…?”

“Meg spotted it in a local shop and thought I might like it,” Harry continued. “I held it up to the light. It was Grandma’s face to a T.”

He added that he “hung him on a branch at eye level. I was glad to see her there. It made Meg and I laugh.”

However, Prince Archie – who is now 5 but was just 19 months at the time – accidentally broke it.

“Archie, playing around the tree, pushed the stand, shook the tree and Grandma fell,” Harry wrote. “I heard a bang and turned around. Parts were lying all over the floor.”

Archie sweetly tried to fix it, as Harry wrote that his son “ran and grabbed the spray bottle. For some reason he thought that splashing water on the broken parts would fix the situation.”

Humor ensued when Meghan told her son: “No, Archie, no — don’t spray the Gan-Gan!” Harry then grabbed a dustpan to clean up, he wrote, sweeping the bits away and noting to himself, “This is weird.”

The Sussex family of four are expected to spend the holidays in the US again this year as they have not attended Christmas at Sandringham with the royals since 2018, the year Harry and Meghan married and Meghan was pregnant with Archie.

Speaking with Marie Claire last month Meghan, 43, said: “I love the holidays,” adding that “every year it gets better” with Archie, 5, and Lili, 3, growing up and understanding Christmas more.

“In the beginning, I think as a mom with kids, you just enjoy them being there, but they don’t understand everything that’s going on yet,” she said. “But now we’re at an age where I can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”

“Every single holiday is a new adventure,” she continued, adding that it’s important to her that her children experience the “magic” of traditions like putting out “carrots for the reindeer” at Christmas.
