In 2011, at the age of 10, he was sent to the Prela Gopichand Badminton Academy to receive training under the guidance of coach Prela Gopichand. He trains at the academy all year round and meets with his family once a year. He has won runner-up three times in the BWF (Badminton World Federation) Youth International Challenge. As of 2023, Dhruv has won 2 championships and 3 runner-ups in the BWF International Challenge/Series, and 1 championship in the BWF World Tour. Dhruv is an integral part of India’s Thomas Cup 2022 triumph.
2022 IOS Sports & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. brought Dhruv into their team to manage his requirements so that Dhruv could focus on training. IOS Sports is a sports marketing and talent management company. Dhruv won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games along with teammates Prannoy HS, Lakshya Sen. Srikanth Kidambi, Mithun Manjunath, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Arjun MR, Sai Pratheek and Rohan Kapoor.
