Cassie has been romantically linked to Combs for decades and was previously signed to his record label Bad Boy Records.

In the lawsuit, Cassie claims that shortly after she met Combs in 2005, when she was 19, he began a pattern of control and abuse that led her to live a “lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse.”

The singer also accused the Bad Boy for Life rapper of forcing her to have sex with a series of male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters.

In 2018, near the end of their relationship, Combs forced his way into her home and sexually assaulted her, the lawsuit states.

“During their relationship, Mr. Combs was prone to uncontrollable rages and often savagely beat Ms. Ventura,” the lawsuit alleges.

“These beatings were witnessed by Mr. Combs’ staff and employees of Bad Boy Entertainment and Mr. Combs’ affiliates, but no one dared speak out against their terrifying and cruel boss.”

The Me & U singer has released a statement saying she is finally ready to speak out after years of silence.

“After years of silence and darkness, I’m finally ready to tell my story and speak up for myself and for other women who are dealing with violence and abuse in their relationships,” said Cassie.

“With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity for me to speak about the trauma I had experienced and would be recovering from for the rest of my life.”

Combs has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit baseless as part of Cassie’s attempt to seek payback.

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Combs’ attorney, Ben Brafman, said in a statement to The New York Times.

“For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Venturea’s persistent demand for $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

“Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has not resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aimed at defaming Mr. Comb and demanding payment.”

Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, claims that the parties spoke before the lawsuit was filed.

“Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to shut her up and prevent this lawsuit from being filed. She rejected his efforts,” Wigdor claims.

Combs, 54, has been one of the most influential artists in hip-hop since he founded Bad Boy Records in 1993.
