Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs breaks silence on Cassie attack video: ‘I take full responsibility for my actions’
When he saw a 2016 video that showed the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer pushing and kicking his ex-girlfriend Cassie (born Casandra Ventura), Bonds thought “he’s in the same game.”
“It didn’t surprise me when I saw it because I’ve seen things like that before,” he says of Combs’ behavior. “I’ve fallen in between things of this nature before – and that was in 2012.”
On May 19, the hip-hop star shared an apology via Instagram video for the altercation that took place between Combs and Ventura, 37, in a 2016 surveillance video released by CNN on May 17 that coincides with his ex’s allegations the girl in the now resolved lawsuit from last November.
“It’s so hard to think about the darkest times in your life,” Combs said in the recording. “Sometimes you have to do it. I was screwed. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I’m not apologizing. My behavior in that video is inexcusable.”
He added: “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
“Appalled. I was appalled when I did it, I’m appalled now. I went and sought professional help, went to therapy, went to rehab. I had to ask God for his grace and mercy. I’m so sorry, but I I’m committed to being a better person every day,” Combs continued.
