SCOTTISH DJ and producer Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster, has died at the age of 38.
Revill died in Ibiza on Saturday morning after “complications arising from an accidental head injury”, his family said.

The statement read: “It is with deep sadness that we confirm the untimely death of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster.
“Jack tragically passed away in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications from an accidental head injury.
“His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are completely devastated.
“Although deeply touched by the overwhelming support of friends, colleagues and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they grapple with the overwhelming grief of this devastating loss.
“Jack’s passion for music and his relentless drive to push creative boundaries through his work at Numbers and Rubadub Records in Glasgow, including discovering countless innovative artists, have made him a beloved and pioneering figure in the electronic music community both before and after. scenes.
“His talent for fusing genres and delivering electrifying DJ sets and productions has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and fans around the world.
“His legacy will continue to inspire and his impact on the world of dance music will remain indelible.”
Born in Glasgow, Revill worked at Glasgow’s famous record store Rubadub before co-founding the Numbers label.
He recently released the single Nitro, featuring Kid Enigma, who told Electronic Groove music magazine: “It was about feeling inspired and inspired in the club.
“Unfortunately, those moments are rare now. Phones and people who don’t dance are to blame, I think.
“I’m so thankful for my fans, but I got into music because I love to dance. I think it’s a lost art form right now.”

Electronic duo Disclosure were among a number of celebrities to pay their respects, writing on Instagram: “I can’t believe it. My heart is broken.
“Thank you for all the amazing memories and inspiration, Jack.
“This is just horrible horrible horrible.”
A post from DU duo CamelPhat’s official Instagram account on Revillo’s page reads: “I can’t believe what I’m reading… in an industry full of Ego you were one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met on the road.
“Our thoughts are with family and friends. RIP my friend x”.
Irish DJ and TV presenter Annie Mac also wrote a heartbreaking tribute to Reville on her Instagram page.
She said: “Devastated to hear of the tragic death of Jack Revill aka @jackmaster
“He was one of the best DJs in the UK; fearless and progressive, committed to the job he was doing.
“He was so charismatic, so funny, so loud, one of those guys who lights up a room. I always loved seeing him and talking to him.
“He was only thirty-eight years old. I can’t believe he’s gone.
“Sending all my love and thoughts to his family and his loved ones.”
World-renowned DJ Peggy Gou commented on Revillo’s page: “RIP Jack”, followed by tearful faces and heartbroken emojis.
Unlike many DJs who focus on producing their own music, Jackmaster’s fame largely stems from his outstanding DJ skills.
He was celebrated for his ability to blend different genres in his sets, creating high-energy, genre-bending performances.
His sets often mixed techno, house, British bass, disco and even classic pop, earning him a reputation as a crowd pleaser.
Jackmaster has performed at major global festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella and Sonar, and held residencies at iconic clubs such as Fabric in London and DC10 in Ibiza.
In 2014, Mixmag named him DJ of the year, one of the most prestigious awards in the electronic music scene.
He has also regularly featured in Resident Advisor’s annual Top 100 DJ poll, highlighting his influence.
In recent years, Revill has been open about personal challenges, including his problems with mental health and substance abuse.
In 2018, he faced allegations of inappropriate behavior at an event, for which he publicly apologized, revealing that he had overdosed on GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), a nervous system depressant, at the time of the incident.
“During the ensuing blackout, my actions included attempting to kiss and grab people against their will. I am truly disgusted and ashamed of myself and do not want to use my substance abuse as an excuse for my actions,” he said in an August 2018 statement.
“I’m trying to deal directly with my personal issues, personally talking to those involved, changing my lifestyle and working to get others supported,” he added.
