They tried to squeeze in between an Isuzu pickup truck and a Mitsubishi van that were driving side by side in adjacent lanes.
But the space between the two engines was so narrow that the Honda ended up hitting them both backwards.
The impact sent the Honda off its wheels – and the van veered into two other cars.
Moments later, the Mitsubishi hit the overturned Honda – sending it over the overpass wall.
The Honda crashed seven meters to the ground and was written off.
Footage shows the wrecked car with broken windows, a crumpled bonnet, shredded tires and a damaged trunk.
Its 21-year-old driver was injured in a collision in the Thai city of Nonthaburi, the Bangkok Post reports.
Thailand has long been among the top ten countries with the highest number of traffic deaths per capita.
On average, almost 18,000 people die in road accidents in the Southeast Asian country.
This figure is ten times higher than the United Kingdom, which has a similar population to Thailand.
Speeding is rarely penalized on Thai roads, cars weave in and out of traffic, vans are often overloaded and cyclists go without helmets.
The country is on its fifth National Road Safety Plan, but has little to show for it, according to the BBC.
Earlier this month, 20 children and three teachers were killed when illegally placed gas canisters exploded on their bus.
