Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Say His Film IF Got 'Two Thumbs Up' from Daughters Hazel and Violet

Daughters of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are big fans of his new movie.

On Monday, May 13, the famous couple walked the red carpet at the premiere of Krasinski’s new film IF and talked to Extra about whether their daughters – Hazel, 9, and Violet, 7 – have seen the movie yet. The couple noted that the film received “two thumbs up” from their children.

Although his girls are ultimately fans, Krasinski said there was added pressure “because I made it for them, completely and totally about their magical world, so this is one that I can’t screw up.”

When the family did watch the film together, the proud dad said it was “amazing” and “awesome”.

“I don’t even know about ‘cool dad’, that was an emotional dad, for sure. It was so nice.”

“For our kids to have their mom in the movie was so massive. It was a family thing,” Krasinski added.

Blunt agreed, saying, “It breaks my heart to watch them watch the love letter to them, and they know it. I think I can feel it, his beating heart in this movie.”

In the film based on the Disneyland theme park ride of the same name, Blunt’s adventurer Dr. Lily Houghton says she can’t swim.

When they saw her in danger, a frowning Blunt recalled, Hazel and Violet “started to cry. They left the room.”

Last summer, The devil wears Prada star revealed that she is taking a year off from acting to focus on her most important role: mom.

“It’s one of those things where people ask, ‘How do you balance that?’ I never feel like I’m doing it right, you know,’ Blunt said on A table for two podcast about juggling your career with raising young children.

“But this year I’m not working. I’ve been working a lot this past year and my oldest baby is 9, so we’re in our last year of single digits. And I just feel like there are cornerstones of their day that are so important when they’re little.”
