Eva Longoria Questions Why She Was ‘So Hung Up’ on Showing Off Her Abs with Her 2000s Red Carpet Looks

Eva Longoria has come a long way with her red carpet style.

In an Instagram post published on Thursday, Flamin’ Hot the director, 48, reflected on her past outfits that consisted exclusively of crop tops.

“Why am I obsessed with showing my stomach on red carpets??!” she captioned three photos from the early 2000s in which she is dressed in T-shirts with a bare eye.

Back in the day, Longoria wore her favorite look in many ways (no outfit repeats here).

One of the photos Longoria shared was of her in 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Los Angeles premiere, where she wore a 70s-style leather-on-leather ensemble with patchwork jeans and just a jacket and feather necklace on top.

In the other two, Longoria is pictured in a beige knit micro top and skirt at the Armani Exchange 10th anniversary party and dressed in a neon orange bandeau and jeans at an ABC Disney event.

Some celebrities questioned why Longoria had so many cropped shirts in her rotation, including Sophia Bush, who quipped, “Because it’s ABS,” and Julianne Hough who owed it to Longoria’s iconicity.

It’s safe to assume that Longoria’s crop top days are over based on her recent looks, which have included a lot of pantsuits and daring dresses. But it still has that sexy style.

Sheer dresses and curve-hugging numbers are a staple of her red carpet wardrobe, as are chic sultry hairstyles, like the glossy updo she sported earlier this month.

“It’s a wig,” the actress told PEOPLE at the La Cena event in Los Angeles where she debuted her piece. “It’s not even my hair, but isn’t it great?”

“Let me tell you, it’s reward season – people speed it up.”
