Action movie about superheroes from Sony Pictures, Madame Webis fast approaching, marking the first female lead Spider man spinoff when it hits theaters next year, according to Deadline.

Dakota Johnson stars as the lead, a mutant who has psychic sensing powers that allow her to predict the future of other superheroes in the universe. Her character in the film is a protégé of the original Madame Web, born Cassandra Webb, in the comics.

“It was a wild experience,” Johnson said Diversity recording Madame Web. “I don’t think you can prepare for something like that, but I learned so much. It’s a completely different way of making movies.”

In the comics, Web is a blind, elderly woman suffering from myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disorder that forces her to use a life support system. She leads others instead of risking her own life in conflict.

The official synopsis for the film implies Madame Web takes place in another universe, separate from Poison movies, a 2022 supervillain movie Morbius and under the leadership of Tom Holland Spider man series.

Dakota Johnson stars as Cassandra Webb, a New York paramedic who begins to see the future and has a startling personal connection to a mysterious company Spider man– related characters.

Madame Web marks Johnson’s first major franchise since Fifty shades of grey. She recently starred in an acclaimed film The lost daughter and winner of the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival Cha Cha really smooth.

Longtime television writer SJ Clarkson wrote the script and directed Madame Web. Outside of the anticipated superhero film, the British director is known for her work on the 2017 film. Defendersin 2006 Life on Mars and in 2015 Jessica Jones.

Johnson and Sweeney were announced to star in the film back in March 2022. Principal photography began that July, and filming officially wrapped in January 2023.

Johnson was previously seen filming scenes in Boston while filming the movie in August 2022. The actress was spotted in a New York City firefighter uniform running towards an overturned vehicle on a freeway in a video shared on Twitter.

Is there a trailer for Madame Web?

Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for Madame Web on November 15, giving fans an action-packed preview of what to expect from the upcoming Spider man spinoff movie.

In the trailer, set to Billie Eilish’s hit song “bury a friend,” we meet Johnson’s Cassandra Webb as she tries to protect a trio of teenagers (including Sweeney) from a masked villain who looks suspiciously like Spider-Man. When the villain stabs Cassandra, she returns to the beginning of the encounter.

Cassandra then recounts her life as a paramedic in Manhattan alongside a colleague played by Scott. After a near-death experience at work, Cassandra confesses to the doctor that she has visions of the future and begins to encounter both Sweeney’s trio of friends and the man trying to kill them, whom she identifies as Ezekiel Sims (Rahim).

The teenagers and Cassandra all realize that they are connected to each other and that Ezekiel can see the future for himself, while trying to stop him from destroying a future where the teenagers also grow into spider-related superpowers.

Madame Web premieres on Valentine’s Day, and opens in theaters on February 14, 2024.
