John Mayer and Katy Perry seem to be on good terms.
Nearly 10 years after ending their on-again, off-again relationship, the two musicians were spotted chatting while attending Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on November 17.
In a video shared by DeuxMoi on Instagram, Perry, 40, can be seen looking at the back of Mayer, 47, sitting in the row behind her and listening intently as he speaks expressively.
For the outing, the “Teenage Dream” singer wore a short blue dress with black boots and a fur-trimmed coat, while Mayer wore a casual black blazer and gray pants. They were photographed separately outside the venue.
The artists previously dated on and off from 2013 to 2015, during which they collaborated on Mayer’s “Who You Love” Paradise Valley album. (Mayer also played guitar on “It Takes Two” by Perry Prism album.)
Perry previously spoke about Mayer during her tenure american idol judge in 2022, when contestant Noah Thompson performed the Grammy winner’s 2009 hit “Heartbreak Warfare.”
“Noah…I feel like maybe you should look me up on Wikipedia,” she said at the time. “You did great, but I can’t talk anymore. I’m shaken!”

Now Perry is engaged to actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she had her first child, daughter Daisy Dove, in August 2020. The couple started dating in 2016, split the following year and rekindled less than a year later, before getting engaged in 2019.
In January, Mayer — who has been romantically linked to celebrities in the past, including Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift — talked to friend Kelly Rizzo about her Comfort food podcast about his romantic goals.
“People don’t think I want to get married. I absolutely I want to be married,” he said then. “You know the secret, which is that I’m actually pretty well adjusted. And I want to get married so badly just so my wife just knows in her heart, like, ‘John will know what to do.'”

He then added, “I just think that level of trust is the hottest thing in the world to me. ‘If my husband was here, he would know what to do. Call John. Call my husband.’ You’re all grown up when this is your romantic fantasy. You’re all grown up.”
Other celebrities who attended Carpenter’s show on Nov. 17 included Cara Delevingne, Madeline Petsch, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Taylor Zakhar Perez and Blue Ivy Carter.
The “Espresso” singer’s Short n’ Sweet tour will continue with a series of European concerts in March 2025.
