Finn Wolfhard Recalls a Ghost Encounter He Had While Filming It: 'It Was Pretty Scary' (Exclusive)

The scary clown wasn’t the only fear that Finn Wolfhard and his colleagues had to face during filming It.

In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE about his partnership with Ring for Great Ghost Search, the 21-year-old actor recalls potentially seeing a ghost on the set of the 2017 horror film.

“I’ve been in a lot of supernatural movies and TV shows, but ironically, I’ve never seen a real ghost,” says Wolfhard, “but there was a time when I was a kid shooting It in this abandoned mansion in Toronto, and me and a bunch of other actors were exploring the floors.”

“We went upstairs and we saw a guy in black there working as an electrician, and we were like, ‘Okay, that’s just a crew member,'” he continues. “But we found out later that nobody knew who it was and nobody ever saw it again.”

“One could have just messed around, but, yeah, it was pretty scary,” adds the star — who has appeared in other horror-based projects including Stranger Things, Rotation and The Addams Familyplus Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
