Moses ‘Shyne’ Barrow, politician and former Bad Boy rapper, speaks publicly about Sean “Diddy” Combs following his arrest in New York on September 16.
At a recent press conference held in his native Belize, Barrow, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives, shared his thoughts on Combs’ recent arrest and accused the music mogul of “ruining” his life.
“When I was an 18-year-old kid, I just wanted to do nothing but make my mother proud and make Belize proud and be recognized for my talent and take over the world. I defended him, and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to jail,” Barrow said, giving no details to back up his accusations.
“Let’s not lose sight of what the cold hard facts are. This is not someone I went on vacation with and someone I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship with. This is someone who ruined my life, and who I forgave, and who I moved on to, and for the better interest of Belize because at that time he was in a position to give scholarships and maybe invest,” he continued. “I wouldn’t deny trying to bring investment to Belize and contribute to education.”

Barrow, who was once Combs’ protégé, was also asked if he ever participated in Combs’ “freak-offs.” He said he didn’t.
In 1999, Barrow was convicted of first-degree assault for a shooting at a New York City nightclub that injured three people. Combs was also charged with the shooting, but during the trial he said he shot in self-defense and was acquitted of all charges.
“I had nothing to do with the shooting under any circumstances,” Combs said in a press conference at the time. “I do not own a gun and I did not have a weapon that night.”
Barrow was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2001. He was released in 2009 and then deported back to Belize.

At the time of Shyne’s sentencing, Combs said in a statement: “Shyne’s sentence is unjust and extreme, as I know he had no intention of harming anyone. My prayers are with him and his family. I am shocked by today’s outcome. I will continue to support Shyne during his complaints.”
Combs was arrested on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution at the Park Hyatt in Manhattan on Monday, September 16, according to a federal indictment.
The following day, his indictment was unsealed and contained disturbing allegations against him, including alleged “freaks” in which he allegedly forced victims to participate.
The rapper allegedly used drugs to coerce and intimidate women into joining “freak-offs,” which were sometimes allegedly caught on camera without the victims’ knowledge.
When Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami were searched in March, more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil were found among “crazy supplies.”
Timeline of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sexual assault allegations and arrest
During his arraignment hearing on Sept. 17, his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs is receiving “treatment and therapy for things that respectfully need treatment and therapy and he’s getting it.”
Combs pleaded not guilty during the trial, and his attorneys proposed a $50 million bail package that would include a $50,000 bond for himself. However, he was denied bail and taken into custody pending trial.
Prosecutors also alleged that Combs had what appeared to be drugs in his hotel room when he was arrested.
