Matt Groening created the American animated science fiction sitcom Futurama for the Fox Broadcasting Company. Comedy Central and Hulu finally brought it back to life. Career slacker Philip J. Fry, who was cryogenically stored for a thousand years and resurrected on December 31, 2999, is the protagonist of the television series. Along with the robot Bender and one-eyed Leela, Fry gets a job with an interplanetary delivery service. While working on The Simpsons in the mid-1990s, Groening got the idea for the show. He hired David X. Cohen to help him create the plot and characters so he could sell them to Fox. Stay tuned for more updates on the show.
