Tina and Amy. Matt and Ben. Hannah and Paige. If that last gathering of best friends doesn’t ring a bell, it soon will.
That’s because Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo are everywhere now. The two met in season 3 Summer house where they used their penchant for non-stop giggles to co-host a hit podcast, Giggly Squad. They’re about to take the show on the road, literally, with a 28-stop live tour this fall. In addition — they are co-authors of a book of advice, How to giggle —which comes out in the spring.
And when they’re not busy and busy together, DeSorbo, 31, can be found hosting her Amazon Live show, while Berner, 32, just starred in her first Netflix stand-up special. Like we said, they’re everywhere now.
Despite their crazy schedules, the besties found time to shoot their first beauty campaign for Lancôme to celebrate the launch of the new Hypnôse Drama mascara (and if you know anything about Lancôme mascara, then you know it’s elite). True to Berner and DeSorbo form, the video, which was filmed at Ulta Beauty and features them being “caught” gossiping by The Lipstick Lesbians and even includes a lip reader, is a riot.

We spoke to the best lovers about glamour, passionate cat mums and what’s on their tours.
Why was this campaign a good fit for you both? Berner: They wanted to make that drama about how whenever two girls gossip, people think it’s a big drama. When Paige and I never talked about anything serious in our lives. But we’re just freaking out about how good the mascara and lip stuff looked. Also, my 83-year-old Nana loves Lancome, so we couldn’t help but do it. She swears by Renergie serum and moisturizer.
What products did you take home from the shoot and still use?
DeSorbo: What I like the most is their mascara. I feel like I’m always trying new mascaras. I’ve tried all the really cheap ones. I’ve tried all the really expensive ones. And this Lancome, honestly, I think the way their brushes are curved is different from other brands.
Berner: My makeup artist was obsessed with the Butterglow lip balm, because we like to layer a lot of lip liner. Paige explained to me how you can put a product underneath and then another product and be a woman in STEM and figure out what looks good together.

You’re about to take it Giggly Squad on tour. How long do you both need to get ready for the show?
Berner: Paige has a glam crew that worked with her that’s amazing and a lot of the time she’s doing makeup and they’re going to take hours because they love to gossip so I feel like he’s done with your hair but they’re going to do her hair in three hours because she just he likes to touch her hair.
But as far as our preparations for the tour, we can get ready really quickly and Paige will even help me get ready. She has already done my hair and we actually get ready very quickly because sleep is our priority, so we like to sleep as long as we can until the show and then quickly do a 20-minute makeup look.
So you don’t always have pro glam?
DeSorbo: We ran into a lot of problems with hair and makeup artists that we had never worked with before on tour, and one time Hannah did her hair and when it came off, Hannah started crying hysterically and I had to fix it for her.
Berner: I looked like a dance mom. No offense to Dance Moms, but it just wasn’t convenient. Also, I kind of like to take a chance and be like, “we’re in Wyoming. What’s this girl going to bring to the table?” And I’m going to challenge them. I’m going to say, “I want this crazy eyeshadow look,” and see what happens, where Paige is more confident.
What are you going to look for?
DeSorbo: I like very clear skin, pink, with browns and tans for eyeshadow.
Berner: We’re joking that I’ll tell them when Paige is in the coffin and needs makeup. She wants shiny, soft browns and highlighter with a little blush. Not too much.

What will be on your Giggly Tour Rider?
DeSorbo: Our rider is actually very funny. We always have a cheese board, because you never know when you’ll need cheese and crackers. Then I like Coca-Cola, and Hannah’s drink of choice is apple juice.
Berner: We also have popcorn. I get turkey, but I’ve never had it. I just love being there. The rider is really heavy and we didn’t know that they actually just deduct it from your paycheck. So it’s not like they’re just, you’re like, oh, bring me these fancy things. It’s like, yeah, we’ll get you some fancy tequila, but it’s out of your budget. So when we hear that I was like, I hardly want popcorn.
DeSorbo: Yes. Ditch the comfort cold cuts.
Hannah, you praised Paige in the closing credits of your Netflix show for being your suntan spray. Can you tell us the story behind it?
Berner: It was chaos before the show. I was more nervous than I was at my wedding about what to wear and how to search for this Netflix special. And Paige took it upon herself.
DeSorbo: I felt like the hair and makeup artist was going to get the credit, and I provided the spray tan, which is just as important, and I wanted the credit.
Berner: I call her the Michelangelo of spray tans. She had brushes, and powder, she had everything. She does it for herself. and she finally did it for me, and I said, “Paige, if you’re going to ruin my career, this is my stand-up career.”
DeSorbo: I won’t lie. After I left, I was really scared that I messed up a bit. I couldn’t say anything because I didn’t want to upset her.

Did Paige sign the clothes you wore?
DeSorbo: When Hannah first said she was doing a Netflix special, I immediately thought, “What’s she going to wear?” When I sent her the first outfit, I said, “This is the outfit. You’ll look great. Order it.” And she, obviously in true Hannah style, had to try on 1,000 different things and burdened us literally until the night before the shoot, just to choose the original outfit that I told her would look best.
Berner: For standup, you have to be comfortable. I worked a worm. And I had to be on my feet all night. So we fought over what was the most elegant, but also the most comfortable. I feel like I took off a bronze Power Ranger, which is kind of my vibe.

You are both cat moms. Do your cats have play dates?
DeSorbo: We don’t have play dates yet because Butter only really likes Hannah. And Hannah loves it. But at some point we will gather them together and meet them.
Berner: Cats are like us when we like attention, but we won’t want to hang out with everyone all the time.
Many girls look at your friendship and want something like that. What’s your advice on making friends in your 30s?
DeSorbo: Having the same sense of humor. This is truly what made Hannah and I friends. Obviously we have a lot of differences, but we think the same things are funny. One of the reasons we love doing live shows is not only that we get to meet all the Gigglers, but many Gigglers meet their best friends there. A lot of it will just come and then end up sitting next to another girl who is alone. And obviously they already know that they have the same humor because they are there. And we have girls who have remained friends for years because of it. So come to Giggly Squad live show and you can meet your friends.
