Golden Bachelorette Joan Says She Can 'See a Future with More Than 1 Person' as 1 Frontrunner Suddenly Exits

With 11 men left, Joan Vassos saw that things were getting serious The Golden Bachelor.

The October 9 episode started with a group date with Jonathan, Pascal, Dan, Charles, Gary, Mark, Gil, Chock and Keith. Joan, 61, told the men their date would be “a bit revealing” and brought out ex-Bachelor Kaitlyn Bristowe to help explain what the boys would be doing. From there, Kaitlyn, 39, introduced the three original Chippendales dancers to help out The Golden Bachelor men prepare striptease themselves.

“This is my biggest fear,” Chock, 60, said.

But then Kaitlyn announced that the proceeds from the comic show would go to Stand Up to Cancer, which meant a lot to Joan because her husband John had died of pancreatic cancer.

“The immediate change in each of our attitudes was, ‘Oh, let’s get this going,'” Mark, 57, told the cameras.

The men were dressed as sexy cowboys, teachers, professors and construction workers before taking the stage as a group.

Jonathan, 61, was the first to break away from the group for a moment solo in his army gear and tore off his shirt for Joan. Pascal fired a shotgun into the crowd, Charles L. felt like he had done even better than “expected” and Joan cheered loudly for Chock as he took off his suit.

“I’ve got ass moves,” Chock said in an on-camera interview. “I got a nice bum because ladies like a bum.”

Joan ended up impressing everyone. “I thought this would be very embarrassing for the boys, but I was completely wrong because they knew it was for something important,” she said.

At the after party, Joan thanked the boys for making the day “so special”.

Chock talked to Joan about her mom’s health and how the private school principal felt about it all. When Joan said she was feeling better, she and the insurance director moved on to talking about their relationship. “I need to see you more and I believe there could be a future with us,” Joan told Chock.

Chock agreed. “I’m crazy about you,” Chock told Joan.

Keith, 62, admitted to Joan that he wanted to be a Chippendales dancer in his 20s and she made his dream come true. Jonathan gave Joan the gold underwear he wore during this performance, and she and Gary, 66, FaceTimed his son to tell them about the day.

In the end, Joan gave the date rose to Chock. “Chock is the first person I can see a future with since John passed away,” she said in an on-camera interview.

But the next day, Chock found out that his mother had died and he had to leave the show to be with his family.

“My heart breaks for him,” Joan said after learning the news.

ONE ON ONE

Joan had her first one-on-one meeting of the week with Jordan and took him skating at a private indoor rink. The senior sales director, 61, opened up to Joan over champagne about his divorce and living with his three children in a two-bedroom apartment after the divorce.

“There has been a serious breach of marital trust,” he said.

The date ended with Joan giving Jordan a rose, and the couple took part in a private performance by REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Droinin and Dave Amato, who sang “I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore.”

“We laughed a lot. It was super romantic,” Joan said of her date with Jordan. “It’s a lot of fun to be with him. Like, it feels good in his hands.”

The mother of four rounded off the week with a one-on-one cooking date with Guy. Together they made lemon-roasted ziti and Joan thought Guy’s taste skills would come in handy.

“The guy’s an emergency room doctor, I’m a little worried,” Joan told the cameras.

When Joan and Guy sat down at the table, the 66-year-old told her what happened to end his 34-year marriage.

“You certainly don’t expect a marriage to end after 34 years,” said Guy Joan. “I think we fell in love, got married, and then when our youngest left, we were suddenly like half-empty nests. I thought we had a very good marriage for about 30 years, but when we talked, I don’t think we had open and honest communication.”

Guy explained that he “felt almost unhappy” in his marriage and that his wife decided to end things when they were in couples counseling.

Now, “I’m as happy as I’ve been in a few years,” Guy told Joan. “I didn’t know I could feel this good again.”

Joan gave Guy a rose, causing him to feel “dopamine just exploding out of my ears”.

COCKTAIL PARTY AND ROSE CEREMONY

At the start of the cocktail party, Joan told the men that she had spoken to Mama Mary that morning and that her mother’s health had improved.

When she spoke to Pascal, 69, she said he was somewhat passive in spending time with her during the group meeting. “A little effort would be good,” she told the salon owner.

Pascal explained that he wanted to continue getting to know Joan over time.

“There are many more chapters[s] in that book and I would like to go through more chapters with you,” said Pascal Joan.

Joan realized, “What I thought was indifference was just his style.”

Jonathan gave Joan a personalized box of Cheerios, and Mark gave her a fire truck — a nod to his outfit during the group meeting — to help Joan “remember the fun this week.”

“I’ll always remember that outfit you had on,” Joan told Mark.

Then Gary danced with Joan. “I’m getting to a comfort level with everybody,” she told the cameras.

Chock returned to the mansion before the rose ceremony and a conversation with him made Joan realize, “I see a future with more than one person.”

Pascal, Jonathan, Mark and Keith received roses from Joan at the rose ceremony, which meant Gary, Gil, Dan and Charles L. went home.
