One man is capturing hearts on the Internet with his creative proposal, inspired by the iconic scene of the marching band from 10 things I hate about you.
In a now-viral TikTok video posted by @melberinger, the bride-to-be is walking along a path next to the Chicago River when she sees her sister standing in the shot from a distance.
Suddenly her boyfriend appears in the background, impeccably dressed in a tuxedo. She gasps in disbelief when she realizes what is unfolding before her eyes.
A couple finds the strangers who helped them find their lost engagement ring — and then invites them to their wedding
Then, as if straight out of a movie, the band on the bridge starts playing Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” recreating the memorable moment from the romantic comedy in which Patrick Verona (played by Heath Ledger) collides with one of Kat Stratford ( played by Julia Stiles) coaches soccer and starts a school band to play the same song.
“He totally nailed it,” the video says.
When the song starts playing, the boy holds the microphone and starts singing and dancing. He slowly makes his way to his girlfriend, who is standing, laughing and crying. The two eventually meet and embrace before the groom-to-be gets down on one knee.
After saying “yes”, the voices of people cheering were recorded on camera.
