Guerdy Abraira Says It’s ‘Disturbing’ That Larsa Pippen Revealed Her Breast Cancer Diagnosis Without Permission

Guerdy Abraira was not too pleased to learn that her colleague had let others know about her breast cancer diagnosis.

The Real Housewives of Miami star — who first shared her breast cancer diagnosis in May — spoke to PageSix about being upset that Larsa Pippen told people about her health battle without her permission.

“It’s just sloppy that I said that in front of people I don’t even know,” the 45-year-old told the newspaper.

“Two of her best friends, they’re not my best friends,” she explained, noting that Pippen, 49, shared his diagnosis with the two women while preparing for the party. “And should I tell my personal health news? You have people working as bartenders, waiters [around].”

Abraira then criticized Pippen’s “nonchalant” attitude when discussing the sensitive matter, given that she had asked her not to. “It’s actually disturbing,” said the event designer.

Earlier this month, Abraira confirmed to PEOPLE at BravoCon 2023 that she is officially cancer-free. She said the positive update was her “last hurray at the end of the tunnel.”

“I have two more rounds of radiation,” she explained. “Like entering these rooms [at BravoCon]meeting the fans and them saying ‘You’re that hero’ — or she-ro — it’s amazing.”

Recalling how she learned of the good news, Abraira said she “lived” in St. Barts one day and “sobbing” the next after getting the call that changed her life.

“That’s life. There are ups and downs,” she admitted. “You never know when you will fall and you never know when you will rise. And today is my day of ascent. My life is now back to normal. And I want to stay that way.”

Through it all, the Bravo star credited the continued care and support of her husband, Russell Abrira, for making her cancer journey easier.

“I just don’t even know how he did it because nobody saw it coming, and here’s cancer knocking on your door, and you don’t know if you’re going to make it,” she said. “He’s the best guard I could ever ask for. Not only that, he’s very good looking.”

She added: “He was a good nurse. But, you know, it really shows how nothing matters in life except family and love and support and your health.”

Abraira first shared her diagnosis in a statement on Instagram in May, saying she learned the news in March and was scheduled to undergo surgery and treatment.

“I was in St. Barts having the best time of my life when the doctor called me with the results from my regular mammogram. I have breast cancer,” her post began.

“It’s taken me a while to process all of this and that’s why I took a break from social media last month, as many have noticed. Many of you have reached out to check on me and I appreciate your caring gestures.”

Abraira also urged her followers to go for health check-ups.

“This process is definitely intense and what I ask of you is empowerment, not pity,” she said at the time. “I’m lucky that this breast cancer was caught at an early stage – it’s still scary of course, but I have the love and support of people around me and that’s all the fuel I need.”
