Sheryl Crow’s Sons Make Rare Red Carpet Appearance to Celebrate Her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Sheryl Crow had her No. 1 fans by her side as she celebrated a major career milestone.

The 61-year-old singer-songwriter was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in a special ceremony Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. To mark the occasion, her two sons, Wyatt, 16, and Levi, 13, made a rare appearance on the red carpet to support her.

The kids looked all grown up as they posed for photos with their famous mum, both stylishly dressed in classic black suits, white button-down shirts and trainers. Crow looked just as good in a black one-shoulder dress with a side cutout.

The “Soak Up the Sun” singer was honored alongside several other music legends including Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan and Willie Nelson. She opened the show by performing a duet with Olivia Rodrigo on her 1996 hit “If It Makes You Happy” and was later introduced by her friend Laura Dern.

Crow adopted Wyatt as a newborn in 2007, followed by Levi in ​​2010. She told PEOPLE in 2017 that being their mother far outweighed all of her many career accolades. “Adopting my boys — that was just the biggest news event ever — and really for the better,” she said at the time.

She also said she believes the three of them were meant to be a family. “God brought us together. They know how blessed I am to be their mom,” she said Good housekeeping her children.

Earlier this year, Crow revealed that both her sons have musical talent like their mum – but said that, as of now, they have no aspirations to follow in her footsteps. However, she makes sure that they continue with the music lesson.

“I don’t know if either of them really want to do it, but they’re both musical, and I’m one of those obnoxious parents who says, ‘You’ve got to get the piano. Don’t argue with me about it,'” she told PEOPLE at MusiCares 2023. Gala ceremony for the selection of persons of the year in February.

“But my 15-year-old, he has a great ear and can play really well,” she continued of Wyatt. “I think he’s always going to screw up, but he wants to be a marine biologist, so I don’t know how to compete with that because it’s so — I don’t even know what they do. Crow shared that she enjoys introducing her sons to different genres of music, including Motown classics. “They’re just like, ‘Mom, what kind of old music is this?’ But they go around humming it and singing it. My 15-year-old always says, ‘I have sunshine…'” she said earlier this year.

“So I feel like I’m doing the right thing. I grew up with it and my 15-year-old is a great bass player, and he’s learning James Jamerson just like me.”

After publicly declaring that 2019 neither was her last, Crow recently revealed to PEOPLE that she has a new album ready for release that has yet to be officially announced. She shared more details about the project at Friday night’s Hall of Fame ceremony.

“I’m really excited about it. I said I’m never going to make a record again and I ended up with a bunch of songs that I just wanted to put out,” she told PEOPLE, noting that she decided she didn’t want to produce the album herself, so she enlisted a producer friend Mike Elizondo.

“It was, literally, like you hired the most amazing movie director. He just made, one after another, these amazing little movies,” Crow continued. “These are all things that I feel are really relevant to what’s going on right now. The whole thing started with a song about artificial intelligence, and the album is called Evolutionwhich is about it.”

“I hope people like it. I love it,” she added.
