For Guy Fieri’s son, food is where the heart is!
On Saturday, the celebrity chef revealed that his youngest son Ryder, 18, asked his girlfriend Sophie to the prom while they were out to dinner.
In an Instagram Story post, Guy, 56, wrote that Ryder was “so romantic” for inviting Sophie to the event with a secret message hidden in her menu.
While on a dinner date at Boon Eat + Drink in Guerneville, California, the high school senior got a little help from the restaurant’s owner (and Guy’s Grocery Games champion!) chef Crista Luedtke.

Leudtke — who was “so glad to help,” according to her own Instagram story — placed a special message in the middle of the appetizers, disguised to match the dishes.
“Dear SOPHIE,” the hidden message began, “it would be an honor if you would go to graduation with me. I love you!”
And, based on the couple’s smiles in the post Guy shared, Sophie said yes.

Last month, Guy revealed the special father-son moment he and Ryder shared – and opened up about how he wants both Ryder and his older brother, Hunter, 27, to embrace their sensitive side.
Ryder recently “was put to the test” after his basketball team “lost their last game by one point in a very controversial game,” Guy told PEOPLE, adding, “I’ve never seen Ryder so upset.”
But an emotional and challenging moment for the athlete turned into a great father-son moment Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives said the host.
“The great thing was, I said, ‘The fact that you’re willing to let your emotions out and be willing to feel it and not just bury it or blame other people… I said, ‘This is one of the greatest rights of manhood to see you.’ , the chef recalled.

And not only did Ryder let his emotions out, he also shared them with his dad as the pair spent “a few hours” reflecting.
“It was really beautiful,” Guy said of the experience. “It was really the coolest thing.”

Although he’s a little old to propose to the prom, Guy’s oldest son also firmly believes that food and romance go hand in hand.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the Celebrity Chef Pickleball Tournament in Miami last month, Hunter revealed that the menu at his upcoming wedding to fiancée Tara Bernstein is a top priority.
“I mean, food is definitely one of the most important things,” Hunter told PEOPLE.

Hunter also said that when the couple announced their engagement on Thanksgiving last year, so many people asked to be invited to the wedding and cook for him that he considered turning the wedding into a “food and wine festival.”
Bernstein, a professional pileball player, added that her and Ryder’s wedding guests will be treated to “food, good drinks and rosé” all night long.
