Gwyneth Paltrow’s brother releases a new film.
On Wednesday, May 8, Cohen Media Group shared the trailer for the Jake Paltrow film Zero June exclusively with PEOPLE. The film, which originally premiered at the 2022 and 2023 film festivals, centers on the 1961 trial of Adolf Eichmann, an officer in the Nazi German regime during World War II, who the United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum describes as “among the principal organizers of the Holocaust .”
Zero June revolves around the experiences of three people during and after Eichmann’s trial in Israel before he was executed in 1962. The characters in the film, played by actors Noam Ovadia, Tzahi Grad, Yoav Levi and Tom Hagi, struggle with the moral issues that come with sentencing A Nazi official until his death years after the end of World War II and the complications of what to do with his body afterward.

“Based on true reports, Zero June is told from the unique perspective of three different figures: Eichmann’s Jewish Moroccan prison guard, an Israeli police investigator who also survived the Holocaust, and a precocious and clever 13-year-old Libyan immigrant,” reads the official synopsis for the new film.
Jake co-wrote the film with Israeli director Tom Shoval. The film is Paltrow’s first feature film since 2015 De Palmaa documentary about the life and work of director Brian De Palma.

“Zero June takes place in Israel more than 60 years ago, but connects directly to our present. I think many of us everywhere are feeling lost and confused right now, and that in this confusion we are too easily divided into Us vs. Them,” Jake wrote in a statement about Zero June to people. “Zero June is our attempt to recognize these patterns of dehumanization and resist them. We hope the audience will join us in the dark for a little reflection.”
