Halle Bailey Credits Big Sister Chloe for Giving Her Confidence to Be Bold with Fashion: ‘I Want to Be Sexy’

Halle Bailey’s style has come a long way – and she says big sister Chloe is a big part of the reason.

The singer “Angel” (23) revealed in CosmopolitanNew cover story that she had a growing problem when it came to figuring out her style and that it took her a while to evolve into who she is right now.

“I’m definitely not a natural!” Bailey shared her style outlet. “I look at some pictures of myself on the red carpet and I laugh.”

“But as I get older and my body changes, I learn who I am,” she explained. “I want to be sexy. I want to feel good. I want to wear clothes that embrace where I am in life.”

Halle said that thanks to her sister, she was able to discover the direction of her style and gained the confidence to carry it out.

“My confidence has grown deeper and bigger with the help of my sister,” she said. “She was always an extroverted, sexy, demanding kind of presence.”

“When I was watching her, I was like, ‘That’s so cool,'” she added of Chloe’s influence. “I hope to be able to do that one day. She helps me find my footing in this whole world of grown women.”

She shared similar sentiments with PEOPLE last month while discussing her and sister’s VS Pink collaboration, the CxH collection, saying her “confidence has grown” as she’s transitioned from her teenage years into her early 20s and “matured more.”

“Now I’m more comfortable wearing things that fit me and I’m embracing my curves,” she told PEOPLE.

This could be seen in her recent red carpet looks, including her premiere look Little Mermaidwhere she wore a custom silver shell gown by Valdrino Sahiti, which hugged her curves and featured ample cleavage.

She also told PEOPLE, “My body type has always been a little straighter, I guess, and I’ve always wished I had more boobs and more butt, but I’m starting to embrace all the things that make me, me.”

The two sisters, who have had several stylish looks on multiple red carpets, also told PEOPLE that while being in the public eye can be stressful, they often deal with it more easily when they’re together.

“I’m so happy when my sister and I go on the red carpet together so we can hold hands, because it’s overwhelming to have people with cameras yelling at you with a bunch of lights,” Chloe, 25, told PEOPLE.

She added: “It’s flattering, because we’re happy they care to see us and what we’re wearing, but it’s devastating.”
