T20I
Harshal Patel made his debut in a T20I match against New Zealand on 19 November 2021 at the JSCA International Stadium. He was named man of the match after taking two wickets in the first match. He again picked up two wickets in the second T20I. In June 2022, Patel was named in India’s squad for the T20I series against Ireland.

In the 2010 IPL season, Mumbai Indians bought Harshal Patel for Rs 100 Cr. 800,000; however, he was not included in the 11-man roster. He made his IPL debut in 2012 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In the 2018 IPL auction, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) included him in the team. In January 2021, Delhi Capitals traded him to Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the 2024 IPL auction, Harshar Patel was bought by Kings XI Punjab.

I wanted to go over there, hug them, cry with them. But we did it over the phone because that was the only option available. Seven days later, my son was born. So, I was kind of numb for a week, ten days. I didn’t really know what I was feeling—if I should be happy, if I should be sad. It all happens in waves. ”
