Heather Rae El Moussa Praises Husband Tarek for Sharing His ‘Very Personal Life’ in ‘Vulnerable’ New Book

Tuesday, Agile El Moussas star, 36, praised her husband Tarek El Moussa for the release of his new book “vulnerable and real”, Turn Your Life Around: How to Find Opportunity in Adversity—In Real Estate, Business, and Life (Out now).

Alongside a photo of their one-year-old son Tristan holding a copy of the self-help guide, Heather wrote on Instagram: “Tristan wants to let you know that his dad’s new book JUST LAUNCHED and if he’s willing he’ll share it with you 🤍😂 We are so proud of @ therealtarekelmoussa for the official launch Turn your life around and I’m so proud of everything you’ve been able to accomplish.”

“This book not only teaches you about real estate, but it’s also the story of Tarek’s *very* personal life which includes things like his struggles, cancer, divorce, addiction, business struggles and more in a really vulnerable and real way,” Selling Sunset continue alum.

“There’s a lesson to be learned in every single chapter and it’s the kind of book that makes you feel good and want to push yourself to do better,” she added. The post also included a second photo of Tristan, who turned 1 last week, smiling while holding a box full of copies of his dad’s book.

“Oh he’s just the cutest,” Tarek, 42, wrote in the comments section, adding three red heart emojis in a separate comment.

Meanwhile, in a post shared on her Instagram Story, Heather said she and Tristan will be “reading and re-reading” the memoir “all day to celebrate” its launch.

Tarek El Moussa Says Relationship With Christina Hall Is Better Than Ever After Divorce (Exclusive)

In the bombshell book, which was released on February 6, Tarek describes everything from the end of his marriage to Flip or flop colleague Christina Hall, until he was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Writing about the incident in his memoir, the HGTV star says he grew up in a “rough neighborhood” in Southern California and was involved in a gang fight at age 17.

“When I came to, I was sitting in a police car, handcuffed, charged with assault and grievous bodily harm, aggravated assault, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Today I am convinced that the police arrived at exactly the right time. If I hadn’t arrested, I would have been killed,” he writes.

Tarek says that the police determined that he acted in self-defense, and since he was a minor, the records were sealed. He spent a short time in juvenile detention after his arrest and told PEOPLE exclusively that the situation is one he will “never forget.”

Speaking about why he decided to include the incident in his book, Tarek added: “It’s part of my story. We are all a product of our environment and I grew up in that environment. To thrive in that environment, you have to do certain things.”
