Hemant Patil

Hemant Patil is an Indian politician, former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and businessman. He is a member of the Shiv Sena party. He hit the headlines in October 2023 when he resigned as Member of Parliament (MP) in solidarity with the Maratha reservation movement.

Hemant Patil was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1970 as Hemant Shriram Patil (53 years old; as of 2023) in Malaya, India. Yehelegaon Tukaram Kalamnuri, Hingoli Province, Harashtra. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. In 1986, he studied at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir in Hingoli. In 1991, he passed the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) examination. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Nanded Science College, Maharashtra in 1993. He holds a Diploma in Computer Applications. He has also completed a certificate course in import and export.

Hemant Patil has been an ardent supporter of the Shiv Sena party since his youth. He joined the Shiv Sena in the late 1990s. In 2002, he became the councilor of Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation. In 2003, he became the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation. In 2005, he was elected as Zila Pramukh.

The feeling of the community is very strong. I have been an activist fighting for the Maratha community and farmers for many years. I support the reservation movement and resign from the Maratha reservation post. ”

Express train delayed

On April 15, 2016, Hemant Patil delayed the Devgiri Express by nearly an hour. He reportedly pulled the chain every time the train moved because he was unhappy with the sleeper berth he was given and railway officials refused to honor his request for another sleeper berth. The incident caused delays for two other trains. A senior railway official in an interview spoke of the delays caused by the constant pulling of chains by Hemant and his men, saying:

Netaji (Patil) and his men stranded the train for nearly an hour, which was a serious offense under the Railway Act. Netaji and his supporters pulled the chain every time the train moved forward and the 9.10 pm Devgiri Express finally departed around 10 pm CST. ”

In an interview, Hemant defended his actions, claiming that he stopped the train because the railways was not providing proper service, saying:

The railways provide poor services to the people and MLAs. Despite several meetings with them to ensure clean beds, sanitized toilets and better services, no changes were seen. So, to question the Railways, we are not letting the trains run. “

He also claimed that the train was infested with rats and circulated a video in the media showing rats eating food in the carriage.

Force hospital director to clean toilet

In October 2023, an FIR was registered against him for asking the director of a government hospital in South Germany to clean the toilet, as seen in a widely circulated video. Dean SR Wakode filed an FIR against him. An official said in an interview that Hemant was charged under sections 353 (preventing public servant from discharge of duty by assault or criminal force), 500 (defamation) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and Offenses in other terms. In an interview, Hemant defended his actions and claimed that his intentions were pure and that he did not want to humiliate the dean.   • In 2017, Hemant Patil, as a member of the Panchayat Raj Committee, visited a zilla parishad school in Dhule district to check the status of the food scheme for school children. When he found discrepancies between the actual stock and the foodgrains mentioned in the school register, he reported the matter to the committee chairman, BJP lawmaker Prakash Barsakale. Later, Hemant contacted the Anti-Corruption Bureau and arrested deputy commissioner Tushar Mali on charges of paying him a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh.
  • In December 2019, a letter purportedly written by him in support of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) went viral. Prior to this, his party Shiv Sena had opposed the law. Hemant Patil said in an interview that he did not write the letter.
