HGTV Stars Dave and Jenny Marrs Settle Lawsuit from Clients Who Claim They Failed to Complete Work

The lawsuit that was filed against Dave and Jenny Marrs was officially resolved for days before the trial began, according to the documents received by humans.

A pair of Arkansas Matthew and Sarah McGrath claimed that HGTV stars, Marrs Construction and Jupiter rent, failed to complete the upgrades of their home, leading to allegedly violating the contract and guarantee. They claimed that both companies were working on the home, according to an original appeal filed in 2023.

McGraths’s lawsuit first claimed that they had entered into a contract for the purchase of Arkansas from Jupiter rent (via Dave Marrs) on May 2, 2022.

They allegedly packed $ 15,000 to a $ 559,000 house and asked for certain upgrades to be made by Marrs via Jupiter Rent. The company allegedly agreed that it would make upgrades, in the amount of $ 10,125 in value before the closing date.

McGraths did the inspection and submitted a list of repairs to Jupiter, upon submission of the application. However, the document argued that “no paragraph on the repair list” was derived from the closing date of August 28. 2022.

McGraths also claimed that “many additional shortcomings in the construction of the house” were discovered after they had acquired ownership.

As they provided them with a warranty of builders from Marrs Construction, McGraths tried to seek an agreement with them to repair the problems under the guarantee. But they claim that the company refused.

McGraths claims they tried to do the same through Jupiter rents, but the company did not answer.

As a result, McGraths claimed in the lawsuit that both Jupiter Rent and Marrs Construction had violated the guarantee, while Jupiter Rentals allegedly also violated the contract.

They stated that they have the right to “all the costs associated with the repair” of their home that arises from “failure in execution”. They also requested that they be awarded law fees and litigation costs, upon applying.

HGTV representatives did not immediately respond to the request of the people for comment.
