Hoda Kotb is in no rush when it comes to love.
The Today The presenter shared that she has not been actively dating since she broke off her engagement to Joel Schiffman two years ago.
“I’ve only had two dates since…” she told co-host Jenna Bush Hager on Thursday morning’s episode.
The conversation came about after Sofía Vergara commented that walking in New York is much easier than in Los Angeles. Reason? Not everyone is famous.
But according to Bush Hager, 42, there’s no better time for Kotb, 59, to consider his options. “Well, I think it’s time to change that,” she told her co-host.

For a moment, Kotb wondered if this was a pre-planned segment… and if there was a surprise on the horizon. “Are you going to reveal anything?” she asked.
She joked: “‘Get out Bill’ What? Like, what are you thinking. ‘We’re going to change it.'”
Bush Hager didn’t have a blind date up her sleeve, though. Instead, she thought it was time to start looking for a new love for her colleague – and perhaps Vegara as well.
“The inflection in my voice sounded too dramatic. But I think it’s time to change that for you. And as for Sofia, I work for both of you,” she said.
Kotb was not opposed to the idea. “Yeah. You know what? There’s a lot of people going into brand new and exciting chapters,” she said. “And they’re all exciting chapters. So, yeah, I’m okay with that.”

Schiffman, 65, popped the question to Kotb in 2019, but the couple called off their engagement in 2022 after eight years together.
“Joel and I had a lot of prayerful and meaningful conversations over the holidays and decided that we are better as friends and parents than as an engaged couple, so we decided to start this new year… on our new journey as loving parents of our wonderful, wonderful children and as friends,” she said then.
“It’s not like something happened. They say that sometimes relationships are meant to exist for a reason, or a season or a lifetime. And I feel like ours is meant to exist for a season,” she added.
Kotb and Schiffman have daughters Hope, 4, and Haley, 6.
