On Thursday, July 28, the producer took to Instagram, posting a video of himself holding lots of lottery tickets for the upcoming lottery, which is expected to have a top prize of $1.02 billion. Netizens were unhappy with this decision and berated the artist on Twitter, claiming that he had ruined everyone’s prospects.
There were no winning Mega Millions tickets sold on Tuesday, July 26. This raised the threshold from the previous award of $830 million to the current sum. DJ Khaled promoted his upcoming album God Did in an Instagram video, showing off his Mega Millions lottery tickets and saying:
“I hope you played because I did too.” That’s a billion dollars, I’ll try. You see what’s going on, Mega Millions. I won’t mess with this. I hope you had fun because I did. They don’t believe in us, but God does.”
In the caption, DJ Khaled also wrote:
