Iconic BBC Sport show to be axed after 24 years as part of huge shakeup

The BBC is placed on the AX Iconic News Show Sportsday as part of a major remodeling, according to reports.

The organization is supposedly restructured to set a higher focus on digital content, which will mean cutting 27 jobs to create 27 new roles.

This means that the release could happen because the BBC puts less emphasis on broadcasting sports news.

Sportsday, the main coverage of BBC for more than two decades, will be set this summer, along with numerous roles, according to the Daily Mail.

Voluntary redundance will be offered most staff on the sports table.

One insider claims that the move “will effectively kill sports news on television” while BBC switches to a more modern way out.

Traditional sports news coverage will be replaced by streaming and original journalism.

The BBC hopes that the remodeling will grow its audience, but the news is reportedly not well received in the house with voluntary release offered.

Three presenters and two correspondents are expected to be superfluous as the BBC begins to reduce the cost as part of its value for all strategies.

The source told the mail: “It feels like they are killing sports news on television.

“Those who are on are upset. It came as a shock and it is fair to say that none of them saw that they were coming. Basically, they are a tenth of sports news on television.”

Sportsday first broadcast in 2001 and aired 12 times every day from Monday to quarter and 11 times on Friday.

BBC Sport spokeswoman said: “The proposed changes would allow us to improve our narrative and cover live events to ensure that we remain relevant and give more value to the audience in the UK.”

Star-up comes due to major changes for sports on BBC.

The longtime match of today’s guide Gary Lineker leaves the role of the host with three new exhibitors who fill the void.

Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman will share the host duties from next season.
