Master floater John Cheney and a team of more than 30 others work tirelessly at the Macy’s Parade studio in Moonachie, NJ, in the run-up to Thanksgiving to create out-of-this-world masterpieces.

On November 28, the public will see the new vessels adorning the famous streets of New York.

Parade creative director Brendan Kennedy took NBC’s Dylan Dreyer behind the scenes at the Moonachie warehouse, where he shared a first look at the Pasta Knight raft from Rao’s Homemade and the super cute Candy Cosmos raft from Haribo featuring a golden gummy bear in an astronaut suit.

During the interview, Dreyer also revealed some mind-boggling stats about the material, revealing that 2,000 gallons of paint, 200 pounds of glitter and 300 pounds of confetti were used for the 2024 floats.

Meanwhile, Kennedy revealed to ABC7 Eyewitness News that it took more than 100 hours to create Netflix’s Wednesday float, where, as usual, Wednesday Adams is up to no good.

“She pranks her little brother Pugsley and sends him down the parade route in a casserole of rotten vegetables,” he joked.
