Jack Harlow is an American rapper and songwriter signed to Generation Now and Atlantic Record. He is also the co-founder of the music group Private Garden. His song “What’s Poppin” is the single that made him famous.

Jack Thomas Harlow was born on Friday, March 13, 1998 (22 years old in 2020) in Shelbyville, Kentucky and moved to Louisville when he was 12 years old. His star sign is Pisces. He started rapping with his friends when he was 12 years old. They used a Guitar Hero microphone and a laptop to make songs and put them into a CD called “Rippin and Rappin”. In the seventh grade, he got a professional microphone and made his first mixtape “Extra Credit”. He graduated from Atherton High School in 2016. During his freshman year, his YouTube videos caught the attention of several major record companies, who offered him contracts, but he turned them down at the time.

Jack Harlow began rapping at the age of 12, but in November 2015, he released his first commercial album titled “The Handsome Harlow”. During high school, Jack was something of a local celebrity, often playing sold-out shows at Louisville venues such as the Mercury Ballroom, Headliners, and Haymarket Whiskey Bar. In June 2016, just one month after graduating from high school, he released a mixtape 18, the first mixtape for his record label Private Garden. Over the next year, he made multiple trips to Atlanta to work with engineer and mixer KY Engineering. In 2017, he released several singles such as “Hitchcock”, “Dark Knight” and music videos with 2forwOyNE and J-Reid, and released the mixtape “Gazebo” in November. He later joined the 14-date Gazebo Tour, where The Homies (composed of Louisville rappers and producers Ace Pro, 2forwOyNE, Shloob, Quiiso, and Ronnie Lucciano) opened for him. In 2018 and 2019, he wrote songs for his upcoming releases, signed with Atlantic Records and Dj Drama, and released his first major mixtape, Loose. After releasing several singles, Harlow released a 12-track mixtape titled Confetti, which featured artists such as Bryson Tiller, 2forwOyNE, and EST Gee. In January 2020, Jack collaborated with Cole Bennett to release “Whats Poppin,” which has sold over 95 million copies as of September 2020.

- Jack Harlow has stated in several interviews that he remained sober throughout his school life and never drank alcohol or took other drugs. He did not like smoking marijuana, but occasionally drank.
