Jaihind Kumar is an Indian actor, screenwriter and director who has appeared in many Hindi films. He appeared in the 2023 movie Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.

Jaihind Kumar was born in Uttar Pradesh, India. After completing his education in Uttar Pradesh, he moved to New Delhi where he studied at Jamia Millia Islamia. Later, he joined the Piero Theater, a university theater company founded by Said Alam, and participated in many theatrical performances. During his graduation, he applied to the National School of Drama, New Delhi; however, he was unsuccessful as he had not yet completed his graduation. After graduation, he went to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, where he studied at the Himachal Cultural Research Forum and the Mandi School of Drama under the National Institute of Development Studies, becoming the first batch of students of the institute. There he took acting courses for a year.

Profession
After completing his formal education, Jaihind Kumar moved to Mumbai to work in the film industry. In Bombay, he auditioned for many films; however, he failed to get a role in any film. He did appear in some supporting roles in TV series, but was unhappy, so he decided to give up acting for a while and started writing, but that didn’t work out either. In 2010, he played a fruit vendor in the movie “Tum Milo Toh Sahi”. He has shared the stage with famous actors like Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia and Suniel Shetty. In the same year, he participated in the movie “Payback” and played the role of Sandy. In 2015, he played a father in the short film “Jaya”, for which he was nominated for the Best Actor Award at the Madrid International Film Festival. In the same year, he appeared in the short film Miyan Kal Aana produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

He got his big break in acting career in 2016 when he essayed the role of Harnaam in the black comedy crime drama Laal Rang, co-starring Randeep Hooda. In an interview, Jacinder said about him getting the role in the film,
I was attending a small gathering at actor friend Manav Kaul’s house, where Siddharth Hussain introduced me to Syed Ahmed Af Syed Ahmed Afzal, who directed “Youngistaan”. I was really impressed that he was sharing Laal Rang’s music with everyone there. Then out of the blue he offered me a role in a movie. He didn’t even know I was an actor. This is the role of a rickshaw puller. That’s why I got this role in the movie. ”

In the same year, he starred in the film Rukh with Manoj Bajpayee. He directed a short film “Utpataang” in 2018. He played a goon in the 2019 film Super 30, co-starring Hrithik Roshan. He starred in the 2021 film “Shankar”, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival Film Market. That same year, he landed a role in the short film “Kilometer Zero,” which premiered at the Washington, D.C. South Asian Film Festival.

In 2022, he played the role of Madho Donald in the MX Player web series Shiksha Mandal.

In May 2022, he appeared in a web series titled Escaype Live, opposite Jaaved Jaaferi; the series premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. Jaihind Kumar is the scriptwriter of the 2023 film “Bole Chudiyan” starring famous actors such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajpal Yadav. On May 23, 2023, he starred in the Zee5 courtroom drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai along with Manoj Bajpayee. The film, originally titled Bandaa, is based on the true story of a lawyer named PC Solanki, who fought Asaram Bapu in a case of rape of a minor girl.
