Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo Renewed Their Vows Because They Couldn’t Agree on Their Anniversary Date (Exclusive)

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas — including the exact date of Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie Xo’s first wedding ceremony.

The couple who got married in 2016 made the decision to get married “on a bender” in Vegas in the middle of the night, but seven years later they are happier than ever.

“She’s my best friend, man. She is truly my favorite person to talk to. She’s my first and last line of defense,” says Jelly, 39. “She’s my everything. There are anchors in life that keep us right, and Bunnie is definitely mine.”

Bunnie, 43, is originally from Las Vegas, and the couple first met after she attended one of his concerts at the Las Vegas Country Saloon in 2015. Since tying the knot, the couple hasn’t been 100% sure about their wedding date.

“There was always disagreement with our anniversary, because she thought it was for one day. I thought it was another day. None of us knew,” admits Jelly with a laugh.

To remedy the situation and find a good excuse to celebrate, Jelly suggested that while they were in Vegas in August, they should return to the same small chapel and renew their vows.

“I thought, ‘Everybody else is talking about the seven-year itch. Why don’t we call it a seven-year?’ We’re just going to go in there and double down,” he says.

The happy couple did just that – and set a new date in the process.

“It’s official – I think – September 1. And September 1st seemed to be correct, because we thought it was between the 30th and the 31st, so I said, ‘Well, now we can both be wrong and just put it on the first.’ Even money that way,” he says.

Seven years later and forever, the couple are also parents to Jelly’s daughter Bailee, 15, and his son Noah, 7, both from Jelly’s previous relationships.

The “Son of a Sinner” singer says it’s been “really cool” to watch his family grow together as a unit.

“Zeko had no children, [but] she has such a motherly instinct. I call her Mama Bear, because that’s who she is to all of us,” Jelly says. “Watching her come up and watching her and Bailee’s relationship develop has been the highlight of my life.”

Jelly constantly praised his wife for her role in helping to raise the family.

“It takes a special kind of woman to raise a child that isn’t her own,” Jelly Roll shared on Instagram in May. “When Bunnie and I first started talking, I knew I was going to get full custody of Bailee and also had another wife pregnant. Most women would run for the hills, but not Bunnie. She told me that no matter what happened between us she wanted to help me get custody of Bailee.”

He continued: “7 years later Bailee calls Bunnie mom without hesitation and 7 years later Bunnie continues to amaze me every day with how loving and patient she is with Bailee. Happy Mother’s Day mama bear. You deserve to be celebrated on this day more than anyone I’ve ever known. I love you so much!” he added.
