Jenna Ortega Calls Her Floral Dior Emmys Dress an 'Art Piece': 'It Literally Stands on Its Own'

The 21-year-old Netflix star quickly made a style statement at her first Emmys appearance

Jenna Ortega knows how to rule the red carpet any day of the week.

The Wednesday star, 21, went all out at the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, where she’s up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Wednesday Addams on the Netflix series.

For her first appearance on the Emmys red carpet, Ortega wore a Dior Haute Couture gown that she called “a work of art.”

While speaking with E! during the preview, Ortega said of her dress, “It’s such a work of art, it literally stands on its own. It’s the perfect dress to remember a special night.”

Her strapless structure — pure! — the dress had delicate pastel embroidered flowers all over it. She wore her hair loose, and only had a necklace, a ring and a bracelet on her jewelry. Her best accessory of the night: her mom! The actress said she brought her mom along as a chaperone for her big night.

Ever since her days on the Disney Channel, Ortega has made a name for herself in the acting world with roles in projects like Your, x and The Fallout — and rocked every red carpet along the way.

Last January, Ortega showed off her award-winning style at the 2023 Golden Globes, where she was also nominated for her Wednesday the role.

On the red carpet, Scream The star ditched the darker shades, opting instead for an ethereal brown Gucci dress. The stunner featured plunging sleeves that fell to the floor, a long train, as well as several draping cutouts on the abs adorned with silver o-rings.

Ortega accessorized the textured dress with more silver, including lots of Tiffany & Co. jewels. and a pair of silver slippers, which peeked through the sheer hem of her dress. In terms of hair and makeup, she sported a perfectly tousled updo and glam look – except for her sharp winged eyeliner.

She dressed more for the after party after the awards Wednesday-inspired look — collared bustier corset, blazer and black pants, all by Dolce & Gabbana.

Before the Globus, Ortega was already a fashion figure worth watching.

On her Wednesday Press tour, Ortega and her stylist, Enrique Melendez, chose cuts inspired by the Addams Family icon, starting with one of her best looks to date: a sheer Versace runway dress for the series premiere.

Described by the stylist as someone who “goes all in”, the 21-year-old actress also donned some trendy white-collar pieces on Wednesday.

The iconic outfit detail is perfect for the rising star, who previously told PEOPLE, “People have been telling me that I look [Wednesday] from the age of 6.”
