Jennifer Lopez Says Women Get Sexier as They Get Older: 'Boundaries Don’t Exist for Me'

“They are becoming more learned and richer in character,” Lopez said

Jennifer Lopez embraces the beauty that comes with age.

IN EllaIn Thursday’s issue of Women in Hollywood, Lopez, 54, discussed her views on the increasing number of acting roles becoming available to older women.

“People realized that women get sexier as they get older. They’re becoming more learned and richer in character,” she said. “It’s all very beautiful and attractive, and not just physically, but on the inside, the beauty you get as you get older, the wisdom you get.”

The Maid in Manhattan the actress said she’s glad to see standards in Hollywood changing by making women feel valued no matter what their age.

“A lot has changed, and I think that’s appropriate,” she said Ella.

“As you get older and have more experience, you become a richer human being and have more to offer. The idea that “There’s nothing really worthwhile in looking at a woman over 30” is so ridiculous it’s the opposite of right. It just makes me laugh – she explained.

Lopez noted that her core values ​​have always taught her to keep going. And it’s the same mindset that keeps her moving forward in her career.

“I can see myself working [as long as] I want to. I don’t know what age that is. It could be 70, it could be 80, it could be 90, I don’t know. But I know it’s there for me if I want it and I want to create it,” said the “Jenny from the Block” singer.

“That’s always been the mindset I’ve had: Never let anyone put me in a box because of where I was born, where I’m from, how old I am, anything like that. For me, those boundaries don’t exist.”

When asked what she sees as her next project, Lopez said she’s ready to try something new.

“I want to continue developing. And if I take the helm and direct my own film at some point, that’s a possibility,” she said, admitting that she was “offered to direct a few things” but had to decline “due to time constraints.”

Lopez is also gearing up for her big comeback in the second segment – the release of her first album in nearly a decade.

She announced on Monday This is me… nowwhich will serve as a follow-up to her 2002 album This is me… Then and will be available on February 16th. The project will be accompanied by a documentary film This is me…now: the moviewhich will serve as a “musical and visual reimagining of her publicly observed love life,” the announcement reads.

Her upcoming single, “Can’t Get Enough,” is set to arrive on January 10.
