Russell, 47, is also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama for her work in Diplomat.

Although he is not up for an award this year, fans will be excited to see Costner, 68, after he missed last year’s ceremony due to bad weather. The Yellowstone star missed accepting the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama Series live and recorded his acceptance speech, which was uploaded to Instagram.

They join a roster of previously announced hosts: Amanda Seyfried, America Ferrera, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Issa Rae, Shameik Moore, Simu Liu, George Lopez, Julia Garner, Justin Hartley, Michelle Yeoh and Will Ferrell.

The ceremony will be hosted by Jo Koy, who said in a statement after the news broke in December that it was “extraordinarily special”.

“I’ve stepped on many stages around the world in my career, but this one will be extra special. I’m so excited to host the Golden Globes this year. This is a moment where I can make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita (google it).” his statement read.

Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne echoed the same sentiments, sharing in a statement that she knows the comedian will “bring his A-game.”

“We are thrilled to have Jo host the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards and bring her infectious energy and humor to kick-off Hollywood awards season. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for the stars in the room and the global audience,” his statement read.
