JoJo Candidly Admits She's 'Been on Both Sides of the Coin' with Infidelity: 'I've Seen the Cost' (Exclusive)

Joanna “JoJo” Levesque knows how it feels to have her heart broken. She also knows how it feels to break someone else’s heart.

In his new memoir, Through influenceout now, the 33-year-old singer-author writes candidly about the various romantic relationships in her life, some of which ended due to infidelity — with Levesque admittedly being on “both sides of the coin,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“I’m so sad that I hurt people, even in writing [the memoir]I said, ‘Wow, I see how the pain I’ve endured has made me inflict pain on my relationships,'” says Levesque, who talks about personal and professional struggles in the book, from child stardom to addiction and more.

The singer adds, “But it’s part of my story and I think it’s empowering to talk about it all — the good, the bad, the disgusting, the embarrassing, the embarrassing. It’s better to do it than to pretend.”

Levesque says she was first cheated on by a teenage boyfriend. Since then, she has experienced several infidelities and admits that she has been unfaithful in several relationships.

Hoping to find a way forward, Levesque says her ex tried to prove his commitment to her by going to couples counseling, but she ended up calling off the engagement.

“I wanted to be thoughtful and classy, ​​and I wanted to take the high road. I didn’t want to put too much out there, but I wanted to be honest but still respectful,” Levesque — who has been publicly romantically linked to Freddy Adu, Jeremiah McConico and Dexter Darden — talks about including details of her past relationships in her book.
