Jonathan Majors’ Trial Exposed Actor’s ‘Pattern of Abuse,’ Says D.A.: ‘We Thank the Survivor’ 

Jonathan Majors’ trial exposed the actor’s “pattern of abuse,” according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

After Majors was found guilty of two counts in a split verdict, Bragg issued a statement, saying, “At the Manhattan DA’s office, we are committed to targeting survivors throughout our work. The evidence presented during this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and the escalating patterns of coercion that are all too common in many cases of intimate partner violence we see every day.”

“Today, the jury found that a pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend. We thank the jury for their service and the survivor for bravely telling her story despite having to relive her trauma at trial,” the statement added.

The Belief III The actor was found guilty of two counts: third-degree misdemeanor recklessly causing bodily harm and second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor. He was acquitted of the criminal offense of third-degree assault with intent to cause bodily harm and second-degree aggravated harassment.

The charges stem from an alleged fight between him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, that spilled onto the streets of Chinatown in March.

The March allegations put a damper on the actor’s rising stardom, which landed Majors opposite Michael B. Jordan in the lead role in the early 2023 film Belief III and as the villain Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Disney is highly anticipated Dreams magazine, in which Majors plays an amateur bodybuilder, even generated buzz at the Oscars, before the studio pulled the film from the slate.

The more than two-week long trial in Manhattan Criminal Court included 12 Manhattan prosecution witnesses and three more defense witnesses.

During four days of testimony at the start of the trial, Jabbari told the jury that her boyfriend of more than a year and a half often flew into “rage and aggression” during their relationship, and that they got into a physical altercation in March, leading to until his arrest.

The actor’s legal problems may not be over yet. Majors’ other ex-partners have also reportedly been abusive, dating back nearly a decade.
