Uncoupled, Netflix’s latest rom-com drama, not only stars some familiar characters, but also introduces fans to Geoffrey Owens’ son, Jordyn Owens, who makes his series debut. Uncoupled, created by Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, follows real estate agent Michael Lawson after he is rejected by his longtime partner. To move on with his life, he makes the most of his single status and returns to the New York dating scene.
Jordyn Owens will play Trey in the upcoming drama. Speaking about his debut in the Netflix series, the actor said that he was surprised to get the job. He will appear alongside Tisha Campbell and Marcia Gay Harden. In an interview with Page Six, Owens commented on the opportunity:
“It doesn’t get much better than this, especially for a debut project.”

All about Jordyn Owens
Jordyn Owens, 23, is a native of Montclair and the son of The Cosby Show’s Geoffrey Owens. He played quarterback for the University of Massachusetts Lowell. During the epidemic, Owens pursued the unexpected profession of painter. He even appeared on the Today Show to talk about his artwork. He is also a model and was photographed by Bruce Weber.
Geoffrey Owens told Page Six about his son’s acting abilities:
“It’s something I’ve seen over the years. I’ve been watching it for maybe five or six years.”
“We worked together a lot,” Geoffrey said of their many conversations about the perils of the acting industry. The 61-year-old actor graced the red carpet for the event earlier this week with wife Jordyn. When asked about his experience, he said:
“I am overwhelmed with pride. I am completely amazed.”
Jordyn Owens took to Instagram after her red carpet debut to express her gratitude for the opportunity. He stated:
“I feel incredibly lucky (cliché, I know) to have worked with some of the greatest in the world, it’s been a huge experience and I’m grateful.”

Uncoupled aired on Netflix on Friday, July 29, with a total of eight episodes. The series’ official trailer, which debuted earlier this month, starred Neil Patrick Harris as Michael Lawson, a real estate agent in New York. Uncoupled is executive produced by Neil Patrick Harris, Tony Hernandez, Darren Star, Jeffrey Richman and Lilly Burns. The series was originally announced in May 2021, and Neil Patrick Harris was cast in the lead role of Michael Lawson in August 2021.
Tisha Campbell plays Suzanne, Marcia Gay Harden plays Claire, Tuc Watkins plays Colin, Emerson Brooks plays Billy, Brooks Ashmanskas plays Stanley, Colin Hanlon plays Jonathan Stein, Jay Santiago plays Freddy, April Ortiz plays Teresa, and Ajay Naidu plays Raffi. Those appearing in the series include David A. Gregory, Dan Amboyer, Denny Dillon, Jonathan Strait and Alexis Bronkovic.
