It’s too good to be true — a new Kacey Musgraves concert special is about to arrive!
The country star, 35, recently recorded an intimate, candlelit set of songs from her new album A deeper well and more at Electric Lady Studios in New York for Apple Music Live.
Before the full show airs May 8 at 10pm EST on Apple Music and AppleTV+, PEOPLE has an exclusive premiere of her performance of “Too Good to Be True.”

“Being on hallowed ground, creating this intimate set with my incredible band was such a joy for me, and I can’t wait for you to enjoy it from the comfort of your own space,” Musgraves said in a statement about the performance, recorded in the same studio where his great part A deeper well was recorded.
“Your spirit was in mind,” added the Grammy winner, “and I hope you feel my heart and spirit in this show as well.”
Musgraves’ hour-long Apple Music Live set features multiple A deeper well songs as well as the title track of her 2018 album. The golden hourand a cover of Bob Marley’s classic “Three Little Birds”.

“There wasn’t, like, an ‘aha’ moment that inspired it, but I think just over the years, aging, relationships, friendships that change, change. And then therapy, learning a lot about yourself through that. And you” to some way we collect these ideas and they somehow create a bigger picture,” she said at the time.
“And then zooming in on the little moments of it all, I mean… It’s very warm and vulnerable. There’s a lot of open space. For me, it really just goes to the heart of the human experience,” added Musgraves. “And this album, I’d say it’s human as hell, it’s organic. I think it’s rooted in nature. But there are a few modern pieces throughout the album.”
