Kansas City Chiefs Owner Says Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Relationship 'Is Very Organic': 'We're Happy for the Two of Them'

During a special edition of the NFL Playoffs Mad MoneyThe owner of the Kansas City Chiefs spoke candidly about Taylor Swift’s talent and relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“We’re so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor in their relationship,” Hunt told host Jim Cramer when asked what he thought of the “Taylor Swift phenomenon.”

“I had a chance to meet her at one of the many games she attended this year, and she’s sweet as can be,” he continued. “I’ve also seen her play here twice this summer, and what an amazing performer. One of the most amazing artists of our time.”

The executive said the romance between Swift, 34, and Kelce has made this year “a lot of fun” because of the new attention on the team and the growth of its fan base.

“It was purely organic,” Hunt said. “When they first started coming out, there were a lot of people who said, ‘Oh, it’s a marketing ploy.’ But no, it’s very real. And like I said, the most important thing is that we’re happy for the two of them.”

The Chiefs selected Kelce (34) in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Making Kansas City, Missouri, his home is something a source told PEOPLE made him “truly happy.”

“He loves KC. He’s genuinely happy there and that’s why he decided to put down real roots,” a source shared with PEOPLE in this week’s cover story about him and his brother Jason. The source said one of the reasons he likes the city is because he has “a lot of friends” who live nearby.

“Most of his friends are just normal guys and he’s known a lot of them since college. He’s a very loyal guy and a lot of his friends have been in his life for a long, long time,” the source said.

The happiness of the NFL star was witnessed by Hunt’s eldest daughter Gracie, who shared it during a visit to OutKick the Morning podcast in December that it was “special” to see how “happy” he and Swift were.

“First of all, I think we’re all so excited to see two such phenomenal people happy. I mean, it’s so easy for us to root and for the whole world to root because they’re so wonderful for each other, and it’s been so much fun watching this love story unfold.” , Gracie said.
