“When you’re ready, give it to me,” the doctor tells Griffin.

He then makes an indescribable sound before the doctor replies, “Wonderful! Do you want to say something?”

“Hi, how are you? This is as loud as I can speak right now, but I’m grateful to have this much voice,” Griffin says as the doctor prompts him to speak louder.

“Hello everyone! Now I have this much voice. I’m getting better,” he exclaims as best he knows how.

“Still a little rough, but it will get better with time,” adds the doctor. He then walks Griffin through the surgery and reports that he is healing well, noting that there will be “ups and downs”. But the Emmy winner is overjoyed to see immediate progress.

The comic then adds: “It’s like pornography for me. To see it work after years of not working, and now it finally seems to work.”

“It’s been a week since my surgery and I’m very happy to say the least. I’m following all doctor’s orders and keeping quiet (although I’m a chatty Kathy). Now it’s recovery time for my fall shows ❤️,” Griffin wrote on TikTok.

On Wednesday, June 12, she shared a photo on Instagram showing a gauze bandage on her throat that covered the surgery site.

“Votal surgery went well. 🙏 As you can see some scarring and swelling. It will be worth it if I get some of my voice back. 🙏🙏🙏,” Griffin captioned the post.

The day before the surgery, she explained in a video on Instagram what her upcoming surgery would mean. – I am getting an implant in my left vocal cord, which was permanently paralyzed during the lung cancer operation, where half of my left lung was removed – the actress explained.

“I also have an aperture, which is a crack above my vocal cords and that’s why sometimes when I do stand-up my voice drops to a higher pitch,” she continued.

“So anyway, I’m never nervous before surgery and I’ve had plenty. But I’m a little nervous about this one because it’s my voice and I’ve been through it once before with a voice problem,” Griffin added.
