Katie Price’s ‘mental wellbeing’ means bankruptcy case MUST be heard behind closed doors, court told

KATIE Price’s bankruptcy hearing must be held in private for her “mental well-being”, a court was told today.

The former glamor model (46) was due to answer questions about her finances in the High Court today.

But the judge granted a request to postpone the hearing until next month and said the interview could be held behind closed doors.

Chief Bankruptcy Judge Nicholas Briggs also confirmed that Katie must attend and submit the required documents a week before the meeting or face arrest.

Bertie Boer-Roberts, representing the star, asked for the case to be heard in private because of Katie’s “mental state”.

He added: “Her condition would be worsened by a public inquiry.”

The lawyer also claimed that Katie was “compliant” and was aware that she had missed several court hearings.

Katie, who wore all black and oversized sunglasses, will be grilled about her money woes on September 24.

The case will then return to court for a public hearing next year after the December date was ruled out due to Katie acting in a pantomime.

The judge had previously warned her that she had to attend today’s hearing after she repeatedly turned away from the court.

An arrest warrant was issued in July after she flew to Turkey for a facelift rather than face her financial problems.

Katie was detained when she landed back at Heathrow Airport and taken to court with bandages still covering her face.

Notifying her of today’s hearing, Judge Schaffer told the mother of five that she must come to court and provide documents when asked.

He said, “You must attend that date, there are no ifs or buts, no holidays, no going abroad, you must attend that date.”

The judge warned Price that he would face re-arrest if he did not comply.

The reality star is struggling with an unpaid tax bill of £760,000 after she went bankrupt for the second time in March.

She was served with an eviction notice ordering her to vacate her £2m Mucky Mansion by the end of May as bailiffs swooped in.

In July, the court was told that Katie had failed to pay the £25,000 she owed, followed by monthly installments of £12,500.

Katie was supposed to hand over her six cars – a Volkswagen Beetle, a Nissan, two Range Rovers, a Suzuki Vitara and an Infiniti FX50 – on July 5.

She also hinted that she would surrender her pink Range Rover, but so far has not done so.

The court was told that Katie was paid £84,000 by TikTok to create content over three months – but she blew it.

Her income from the social media app was decided to be suspended last week in a separate hearing.

That includes ex-husband Alex Reid, who told the hearing the mother-of-five was a “calculated, cold person”.
