Keke Palmer 'Should Be Jimmy Fallon,' Say Celebrity Memoir Book Club Hosts

Comedians Claire Parker and Ashley Hamilton recommend Keke Palmer to be the next big talk show host! On the November 26 episode of their podcast, Celebrity Memoirs Literary ClubParker and Hamilton discussed Palmer’s new book, A master from mewhich was released on November 19 by Flatiron Books. The book, which accompanies the author’s 2017 edition I don’t belong to youdetails Palmer’s journey from child star to “understanding her true worth,” according to the synopsis. Parker and Hamilton were inspired by Palmer’s account of her work in the entertainment industry — and could envision the Emmy winner in her new role as host. “I think you’ve done an amazing job with your job,” Hamilton says during the episode. “But I think I look up to her as a leader and a performer.”

“When I look at her and say, ‘What do I want to learn from Keke Palmer?’ I think she should be Jimmy Fallon,” Hamilton continued. “I’ve said that about 10 times since I saw her the other day. I, in my bones, want to start a change.org position to change the show to The Keke Palmer Show Tonight. Like, she would be perfect.”

Palmer has experience in that arena, having hosted a Disney+ competition show Foodtastic and the NBC revival Password. She is also a host Honey, this is Keke Palmer podcast. “She’s great,” Parker says. “She can talk to anyone. She is hilarious. She is professional. She can sing. She can act. She knows how to do skits… She is talkative. She is cute. She could lead a monologue. She could do anything.”

“That’s always been the thing with me: I’m in a mature scenario, I have these older experiences in the workplace and with my sense of purpose,” Palmer said, “but then again, I’m just a normal 31-year-old with all his immaturity. ”

“What I got from this book is that she really wants you to know [that] the person you see on TV is not me. You don’t know me,” Parker says. “And I want to say, respect. If I happen to run into you through a common, maybe we’ll get along, maybe not. But I will not pretend to know you in any way.” “I have nothing but respect and admiration for the performer that you are,” Parker continues. “And at one point here, she says, ‘I have a gift for bringing people together.’ And I said, you absolutely know.”
