Kelly Osbourne Says She ‘Didn’t Know’ Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Liked Her for Years Before They Started Dating

Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson’s romance was a slow burn.

After the couple went public with their relationship and welcomed their first child together in 2022, Osbourne opened up about how she started dating the Slipknot member during the new episode The Osbournes podcast.

The couple first met on Slipknot’s 1999 Ozzfest tour, a music festival founded by her parents, Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne.

“We first met when I was a kid and I think we only saw each other as kids,” said Kelly, 39. “We were just friends, because there was a seven-year age gap, and it was huge back then, a huge difference. I was 13 and he was in his early 20s.”

Kelly recalled that Wilson, 47, and her brother Jack Osbourne had a stronger friendship at the time because of their age. Sharon, 71, said Wilson was “very outgoing” and spent more time with the Osbourne family during Ozzfest than any other member of the heavy metal band.

Over the years, Kelly and Wilson remained good friends. “I think it was 2013 — maybe a little before that — I ran into Sid when he had his record store on Melrose,” she said. “And then he decided he liked me. I didn’t know that.”

From there they talked occasionally, and then Wilson invited Kelly to one of Slipknot’s concerts in Los Angeles about four years ago. “I went to the show, I didn’t know he liked me yet, and then we just started talking more and hanging out, and it just happened really naturally,” she explained.

“It wasn’t, like, forced. Because we’ve been friends for so long and known each other for so long, there was a sense of comfort that I’ve never had with anyone else,” Kelly added.

Sharon noted that someone else recently asked her what she thought of Kelly dating a musician, and she admitted that it would be weirder to see her with “normie.”

“I was never going to come home with someone normal,” Kelly joked.

She and Wilson went public with their relationship in January 2022, and four months later revealed they were expecting their first child. The couple welcomed a boy, Sidney, later that year, as Sharon revealed during an appearance on Conversation in January 2023.

Last month, Kelly and Wilson walked their first red carpet together at the 2024 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
