Ballerini received five nominations and will perform at the inaugural awards
Kelsea Ballerina’s look did not disappoint at the first People’s Choice Country Awards. On Thursday, the “Penthouse” singer, 30, ruled the carpet in a glittering look best suited for the inaugural ceremony in Nashville!
She wore a custom Coach little black sequined dress with a turtleneck and sheer sleeves. The backless silhouette, which Ballerini showed off on the red carpet, added a sexy accent to the glitzy number.
She continued the black color scheme down to her feet, opting for a pair of retro platform heels with ankle straps to complete her look.
For beauty, Ballerini chose a classic smokey eye with strong lines and a bun with bangs that frame the face.

Ballerini will later take the stage at the People’s Choice Country Awards as one of the night’s performers, alongside other stars such as Blake Shelton, Little Big Town and Carly Pearce.
The award-winning country singer-songwriter is also nominated in five categories, including 2023 Folk Artist and 2023 Album, and is up against some of the genre’s biggest stars, including Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs and Lainey Wilson.
The new award show consists of 12 award categories. The awards will also include honorary awards, such as the Country Music Icon Award, which Shelton will present to Toby Keith.

Kelsea Ballerina and Chase Stokes Relationship Timeline
The ballerina’s appearance at the awards comes two weeks after she attended the MTV Video Music Awards alongside her boyfriend Chase Stokes.
The couple wore bright red outfits to the VMAs, with Ballerini wearing a custom red Mônot dress with an open back that revealed a new hummingbird tattoo and Stokes in a matching blazer.

The couple also attended the CMT Awards together in April, where Ballerini, who hosted the night, kept things cute with eight outfit changes.

At the VMAs, Ballerini similarly surprised fans with an outfit change — this time mid-performance. While performing her song “Penthouse”, Ballerini changed from a white dress to a black miniskirt.
The first People’s Choice Country Awards – hosted by Little Big Town – will air live Thursday, September 28 on NBC and Peacock at 8:00 PM ET.
