Mauricio Umansky has opened up about his marriage to Kyle Richards as the reality stars navigate a challenging phase of their decades-long relationship.
Nearly three months after PEOPLE exclusively confirmed that Umansky, 53, and Richards, 54, had “separated for some time” in July, he recently debuted Dancing with the stars contestant confirmed that the two are struggling to stay together.
“We were dealing with our own things, somehow, super quietly and internally, only with our problems,” he explained in the last episode of the Agency. Red Mic podcast. “I mean, certainly, we are not separated. We are not divorced at this time. We are none of those things.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG and Umansky “are still dealing with our marriage,” he admitted.
“We’ve been married for 27 years together, and it’s been an amazing 27 years,” he said, before qualifying that “it’s been an amazing 26 years and it’s been a tough year.”
Umansky continued, “You know, Kyle and I are blessed because we’ve actually had 26 years where we haven’t had a bad year and I know most marriages have bad months, bad weeks [and] bad years.”

Umansky made these comments shortly after Richards cheered him on in the DWTS ballroom during the season 32 debut on Tuesday.
Before he hit the dance floor with his partner Emma Slater, The Buying Beverly Hills star addressed the recent difficulties the couple faced in their introductory package.
“I’m married to Kyle Richards,” he began. “We are going through a difficult year and I really hope for that Dancing with the stars I’ll take my mind off it and have fun.”

On July 3, sources told PEOPLE that the couple “continues to live under the same roof” and have remained “on friendly terms as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”
Following PEOPLE’s report, the reality stars jointly announced that “all claims regarding the divorce are false.” However, they admitted that they “had a rough year.”
“Most challenging in our marriage. But we both love and respect each other immensely,” they continued. “No one was wrong. While we are in the public eye, we ask that we be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be fun to speculate, please do not make up false stories to fit into a further broken narrative. Thank you for your love and support, Kyle & Mauricio.”
