Kenny G and Ex Wife in Legal Battle Over Malibu Mansion He Allegedly Rented for $600K Per Month

Kenny G and his ex-wife are feuding over the Malibu mansion he allegedly rented for $600,000.

The saxophonist, whose real name is Kenneth Gorelick, and his ex-wife of 20 years, Balynda “Lyndie” Benson, who divorced in 2012, have been embroiled in an ongoing legal dispute over the terms of their divorce. The latest conflict began in October 2021, when Kenny asked to stop paying $40,000 a month in alimony to his ex, citing reduced income. He claimed, through his lawyer – celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser – that his career has taken a hit in the last few years and he’s not touring as much as he used to.

However, in April 2023, a judge ruled in Benson’s favor, citing Kenny as saying he was making $600,000 a month from rent alone, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE at the time.

Now, Benson is demanding to see emails detailing her ex’s alleged six-figure rental deal.

In a Nov. 27 filing, Benson claims Kenny’s Malibu mansion, dubbed “Grayfox,” was leased to Bezos by an “entity associated” with the billionaire Amazon founder for $600,000 a month in a deal that begins in April 2022.

She made several demands to hand over all emails and documents related to the alleged lease with Bezos, which the musician denied citing privacy concerns.

Kenny’s rep declined to comment.

Benson also accuses Kenny of violating the terms of their divorce settlement by not selling the house, which would have potentially made her a profit, but instead kept it and earned rental income.

According to the portion of the agreement cited by Benson in her filing, “[i]In the event that the Grayfox property is ultimately sold for more than $40,000,000, [Benson] will receive 25% of any net profits defined as any remaining amount over and above $40,000,000.”

In a response also released Nov. 27, Kenny’s attorneys argue that “there is no order … for Kenny to sell the Grayfox Property” in their divorce settlement, and Benson’s potential payout is only a consideration if decides to sell it.

Kenny and Benson were married on April 5, 1992, and separated on January 9, 2012. They have two grown sons, Noah Reed and Maxwell Benson.
