Kevin Hart Claims He’s in ‘Secret’ Action Movie Chat Group with Tom Cruise, Dwayne Johnson (Exclusive)

Kevin Hart exposed a very secret society!

The actor, 44, claimed on Monday that he was part of a “secret” action movie discussion group with stars including Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise at the premiere of his Netflix film Lift.

“That! Dwayne, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Jet Li, Jackie Chan. All the biggest dudes,” Hart jokingly tells PEOPLE at Lincoln Center in New York. “You know, we’re just talking about action stuff.”

“It’s a real secret conversation, I shouldn’t be talking to you about this conversation,” he revealed. “I could get into a lot of trouble from the other action guys.”

Having now reached action star status himself, Hart said he has a lot in common with action movie pals Cruise, 61, and Johnson, 51.

“We’re just sharing action stories, that’s the thing, when you’re an action guy, you’ve got to have action stories, so our chat is all about action stories and just making sure everyone’s aligned, you know? That’s what it’s about,” he tells PEOPLE.

Hart appeared in several films with Johnson, including Central Intelligence Agency (2016), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), i The Fast and the Furious Presented by: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) — though he has yet to work with the other stars in his supposed group chat.

At Monday’s premiere, Hart also talked about connecting with the cast of his latest film Liftstarring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno and Sam Worthington, who were also in attendance.

“I think there was a consistent non-stop engagement that the cast stayed true to,” he tells PEOPLE. “Days on the set ended with us having dinner together in hotels. Whether it was all together or on different days, there was an incredible connection that ended up adding a lot of value to what we got here.”

The action-packed film, directed by F. Gary Gray, follows Hart’s character Cyrus Whitaker, who assembles a heist team to steal $500 million in gold from a passenger jet mid-flight.

Lift premiering in the US and worldwide on Netflix on January 12.
