Kirstie Alley’s Kids Announce Estate Sale of Pieces from Her ‘Incredible Life’ 1 Year After Death (Exclusive)

Kirstie Alley’s personal items will soon find new homes.

A year after Cheers actress’ death at age 71, her children have announced an estate sale of a curated selection of her belongings, PEOPLE can exclusively share.

“Our mom collected so many fun and unique things throughout her amazing life,” her children, True and Lillie Parker, told PEOPLE. “We want to share some of them with others in hopes of spreading her love of decorating. ”

The sale, “Estate from the Collection of The Late Kirstie Alley”, will be organized by Those Two Girls Estate Sales and will take place in three parts on the online bidding platform Live Auctioneers. Those interested in bidding can register to participate at liveauctioneers.com.

The first part starts on December 21 and lasts until January 7. The pieces included will be primarily Alley’s own household furniture and vintage pieces collected from her three homes in Maine and California and Clearwater, Fla.

Alley was a trained interior designer before becoming an actress, and a rep for the late star tells PEOPLE that the pieces on offer will reflect “Kirsti’s personal ‘I don’t care #@!*’ style.”

“A lover of both style and function, she surrounded herself with objects she loved no matter where they came from,” says the rep, whether it’s a “Pier One warehouse” (Alley was a spokeswoman for the home goods store) or “a boutique in France.”

“She was always looking for the next big piece and had no problem designing around them or waiting for inspiration,” her rep added.

The first sale will focus on French antiques, lamps, bronze statues, clocks, upholstered chairs, rococo gilt wooden mirrors and Hollywood Regency decor. Antique Carousel Plates and McKenzie-Childs designs will also be up for grabs,

Many of the pieces may look familiar to Alley’s fans, as they appeared on her A&E show in 2010. Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, which was recorded at her home in Los Angeles, called Aberdeen.

The second part of the sale will be open for bidding from Jan. 22 to Feb. 4 and will include more mundane housewares, including some of “her favorite garden ornaments and antiques,” according to the representative, such as statues, cast iron planters, Pre-Columbian artifact, salvaged copper skylights and a Victorian birdcage.

There will also be a Third Reich chandelier with mermaid ornaments, Italian ceramics, a French oak kitchen table, glassware and decorative hand-painted panels from the estate of the late design legend Sister Parish.

The third part will be launched on March 18th, and the first part will close on Sunday, April 7th.

This section focuses on the Alley’s fashion archive and will include pieces from designers such as Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Alexander McQueen and many more.

Alley died on December 5, 2022 in Tampa, Florida after a short battle with cancer.

True and Lillie announced her death in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “We are saddened to inform you that our amazing, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, which was only recently discovered,” they said.

“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with all her strength, leaving us assured of her endless joy of living and whatever adventures lay ahead,” they continued. “As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

Alley rose to fame in 1987 when she played Rebecca Howe on NBC Cheers. She won a Golden Globe for Best Actress and an Emmy for Best Lead Actress for her role in the 1991 series Boston.

She opened up about her first career as an interior designer during a guest appearance on The Rosie O’Donnell Show 1996 During an interview, O’Donnell plays a clip from one of Kirstie’s first television appearances, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White on the show Merge game in 1979.

“I live in Wichita, Kansas,” Alley tells the show’s host, Gene Rayburn, near the end of the clip. “I’m an interior designer and I work here.” After the clip ends, Alley tells O’Donnell that she “thought she was going to be discovered” by appearing in the game.

“I was really poor, I had no money and I was starving – that was one of the reasons I kept going,” she says. “But the other thing was, I thought Robert Redwood would be sitting there at home, having breakfast or something, and go — ‘Wow! We’ve got to put her in sting 2. She’s brilliant!'”.

Alley would go on to appear on television shows including Veronica’s closet (1997-2000), Fat actress (2005), Kirstie (2013-2014), i Scream queens (2015-2016), as well as movies like Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Summer school (1987), Look who’s talking (1989), It takes two (1995) and Beautiful to the point of pain (1999). She also received her second Emmy Award for her role as Sally Goodson in David’s mother in 1994.
